At DHC, we believe in giving back We’ve heard about a number of DHC people getting together and helping the less fortunate in this holiday season. We think that’s worth a few shoutouts!
Fun for the Holidays Our Toronto location is supporting a couple of noble causes this year.
Toy Drive: It’s become an annual tradition at YYZ to partner with CHUM City Christmas Wish. The proceeds and donations go toward providing toys for children who would not receive a gift during the holidays.
Secret Santa for Seniors: Working with Unifor and the City of Toronto, our YYZ team is providing gifts for those at the other end of the age spectrum as well. These secret “Elves” purchase gifts that volunteers give to seniors in long term care residences who don’t have family visiting them this season.
Food for the Holidays We often associate the holidays with extravagant feasts, but there are those who are struggling with food security in our communities. That’s why at Calgary 4/5, has committed to running an annual food drive for veterans.
Jumping in If you want to get involved, check to see if your site has anything planned. If not, and it’s something you’d like to see happen, maybe jump in and volunteer to get it started. Charitable organizations are always looking for a point person to get food drives and other fundraisers underway.
