Due to this successful relaunch of the Academy in Victoria, we are excited to announce the expansion of the Aircraft Manufacturing and Assembly Training Program (The Academy) to Calgary in 2024. This expansion represents a significant milestone in our journey to empower our employees with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their roles and make an impact in the aerospace industry.

Over the next couple of months, we will be assembling a team of subject matter experts, curriculum developers and instructors to build the training program in Calgary, with the launch date of January 2024.

We want to assure that our commitment to the training center in Victoria, BC remains unwavering, and we will continue to operate seamlessly without any interruption. The addition of the Calgary Academy is a testament to our dedication to this program and necessity to ensure our employees have the knowledge and practical skills to successfully begin their career as a Sheetmetal Mechanic / Assembler job classification.

We look forward to continuing to achieve these milestones in the future! Stay tuned for further updates and information on our Grand Opening Celebration where you can tour our training facility and meet our dedicated team.

What is the Academy?
The Academy has been meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience required to excel in various sub-assembly and assembly work centers. Graduates of the 8-week academy will have the necessary knowledge and skills to begin their progression as a Sheetmetal Mechanic / Assembler job classification.

With our newly designed program, we have the increased ability and space to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. With practical learning being the heart of our program, students will learn specialized skills such as riveting, drilling and reaming, fastening, drawing interpretation, aircraft sealing, electrical grounding of aircraft structures, torquing, installation of aircraft hardware and safety devices, and many other skills which will be critical for our operations. This hands-on experience will foster a deep understanding of the assembly process and build valuable skills.
