While summer isn’t quite over yet, the holiday season will be here before we know it. To help everyone plan ahead, we’re sharing the following information about our upcoming holiday schedule.
Holiday parties:
- Toronto and MC2: Saturday, November 28
- Calgary: Saturday, December 5
- Victoria: Thursday, December 10
Statutory holidays:
The following are paid statutory holidays where DHC facilities will be closed:
- Friday, December 25, 2026
- Monday, December 28, 2026 (in lieu of Boxing Day)
- Friday, January 1, 2027
We know the holiday season is an important opportunity to spend time with friends and family, recharge and enjoy a well-deserved break. With that in mind, we want to provide employees with an opportunity to step away and return refreshed in the New Year.
Where operational requirements allow, we are planning for a holiday shutdown across the organization beginning at noon on December 24, 2026, through January 1, 2027, with employees returning to work on January 4, 2027.
During the holiday shutdown, three days, December 29, 30 and 31, are not statutory holidays. Employees can use vacation time or, where available, banked time to cover these days. Employees may also choose to take these days as unpaid time off. Please be reminded that unused vacation days are not carried over to the next year. Leaders and employees should work together to ensure that all vacation is scheduled and entered into Dayforce before the end of the year.
We know that some priority programs and customer commitments will need to continue during this period. If your role is required to support work during the shutdown, your manager will connect with you in advance.

- The above may not apply to those covered by a collective agreement. Please refer to your CBA for details.
