DHC Women in Aerospace Advisory Committee Opportunity

The Women in Aerospace (WIA) program at De Havilland Canada is looking for more supporters to join the WIA Advisory Committee to act as an ally of the program and help fulfill one of the volunteer event manager roles outlined below. 

 

The WIA Advisory Committee is not limited to women, we are looking for supporters from across the organization to help shape our program. 

 

If you are interested in becoming involved with DHC-WIA, please email wia@dehavilland.com detailing your interest in joining the committee and highlighting any relevant experience that aligns with the role you prefer. 

 

Applications will close on Monday, October 14 and selected candidates will be notified shortly after. 

 

International Women’s Day 2025 (IWD) Event Manager

  • Responsible for the overall planning and coordination of International Women’s Day (IWD) events in Toronto, Calgary, and Victoria. 

  • Recruit a team of volunteers and event leads in Toronto, Calgary, and Victoria. 

  • Work with selected event leads and the Advisory Committee to develop an IWD concept and theme. 

  • Oversee the coordination of event logistics, management of budgets, booking of venue, selection and coordination of vendors/speakers, schedule creation, etc. 

  • Work directly with departments within DHC to ensure appropriate areas of expertise are utilized (i.e. Marketing/Branding, Sponsorships, etc.)

  • Create, distribute, and evaluate survey results related to IWD events. 

  • Following IWD 2025 events, document any lessons learned and prepare proposals and ideas for 2026 events.

  • Prepare information for the Quarterly Report related to delegated responsibilities.

  • Support other committee activities wherever required. 

  • The position has a one-year tenure, beginning in October 2024. 

  • Commitment estimate is an average of 4-6 hours per week. 

     

All Operators Conference – Women in Aerospace Coordinator (x1)

  • Responsible for the overall planning and coordination of DHC-WIA participation at the 2025 All Operator’s Conference (April 2025).  

  • Work with the Advisory Committee and team responsible for the 2025 All Operators Conference to develop DHC-WIA involvement, and where required, any concepts or themes for events. 

  • Recruit a team of volunteers in Calgary to implement planned participation.   

  • Work closely with the team planning the All Operators Conference when coordinating event logistics. 

  • Create, distribute, and evaluate survey results related to the DHC-WIA participation at the 2025 All Operator’s Conference

  • Document any lessons learned.

  • Prepare information for the Quarterly Report related to delegated responsibilities.

  • Support other committee activities wherever required. 

  • The position has a one-year tenure, beginning in October 2024.
