Name: Jonas Boettcher-Sheard
Location: CGY7
Role: Legal Counsel (formerly Law Articling Student and formerly2 Law Summer Student)
Years at DHC: 2.5
Q&A:
Q: What does a typical day look like for you at DHC?
A: I start the morning with the biggest, strongest coffee the office machine can produce and sit down to read the news – by which I mean my inbox. Like the real news, it’s often full of provocative headlines and bad stories that need fixing. Then I run through some hand and wrist stretches so I can unleash my 110 WPM, 99% accuracy typing speed (with receipts to prove it) to add a little custom Jonas flair to the legal world. Joking aside, scanning my inbox first thing helps me keep track of what’s happening across the projects I’m involved in and figure out what needs to be prioritized. Every day looks a little different, with plenty of new challenges alongside the steady hum of the “typical” tasks.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working here?
A: The breadth of work. I’m learning constantly, with no signs of slowing down (there are still meetings where I don’t follow what’s being discussed). The people are great, and once in a while, you get to step into the MRO, stand under an aircraft, and remember that planes are just cool. Also, I need to keep affording groceries to support my luxurious lifestyle of pulling planes (please see below).
Q: Do you have a favourite aircraft in the DHC family? Why?
A: The waterbomber. Its design is striking, the paint scheme is bold, and its mission is unique and important, especially in a world where climate change makes fighting wildfires more critical than ever. Let us all Keep The Fleet Flying and Keep The World From Burning!
Q: What’s one memorable moment from your time at DHC?
A: Pulling a 67,500lb Dash-8 by myself, even if only a short distance, before others hopped in to “help”… Never forget…
Thank you, Jonas , for everything you do!
