| On October 4, the second cohort of the Calgary Academy graduated with 13 proud students receiving their certificates. “What we do at De Havilland Canada matters,” said @Shonna McCormick, Manager, Learning and Development. “Our aircraft put out wildfires protecting the environment, properties and most importantly people. Our aircraft get people in and out of the most inaccessible places on earth. And when you assemble, service, and maintain these aircraft, that is the proud legacy that you are joining. Welcome to De Havilland Canada.” |

What is the Academy? No one knows our aircraft like we do, so who better to train the next generation of workers for our assembly lines. The Academy has been meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience required to excel in various sub-assembly and assembly work centers. Graduates of the 8-week Academy will have the necessary knowledge and skills to begin their progression as a Sheetmetal Mechanic / Assembler job classification. |

| Enthusiasm at the event was palpable as the new graduates received offers of employment from members of the Talent team following the ceremony. The room was filled with smiling faces as they shared a celebratory meal and chatted about where and when they’d be starting their first shifts with DHC. If you see any of these bright new hires while you’re touring our facilities, be sure to welcome them to De Havilland Canada! | ||
