Organizational Announcement

We are pleased to welcome Janet Wardle, who joins DHC today as Senior Vice President Engineering and Supply Chain. Janet has extensive experience in the aerospace industry and a deep connection to the values that align our organization. She embodies the Grit, Respect, Accountability, Appreciation, Courage, and Empathy that define DHC, and her expertise and commitment to these principles make her an exceptional addition to our team.

Janet brings decades of experience in the aerospace industry, most recently excelling in her leadership role at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Canada Aerospace (MHICA). With a strong background in supply chain management, materials management, operations analysis, and advanced management processes, Janet has played a pivotal role in driving operational success.

Janet’s expertise spans the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and implementation to ongoing product and fleet support. In an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, she manages lifecycle stages, technical complexities, quality assurance, and schedule and cost control activities with precision. Additionally, Janet leads a dedicated engineering group responsible for liaison engineering, stress analysis, design projects, and new product introduction, ensuring that MHICA maintains excellence in innovation and technical execution.

Her strategic focus centers on integrating internal operations seamlessly with supply chains at all levels—from OEMs to Tier 1 suppliers and Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Janet has extensive experience managing Canadian and global supply chains, ensuring efficiency and resilience.

Under her leadership, her team achieved a significant milestone by successfully overseeing the large-scale transfer of production for wing and fuselage major assemblies from MHI Japan to MHI Canada. This complex transition was the largest of its kind from Japan to Canada, demonstrating her adept project management skills and her team’s ability to deliver on ambitious goals.

Janet holds an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. She also holds the ICD designation from Rotman.

A respected figure in the aerospace industry, Janet serves on the boards of several key associations, including the Aerospace Industry Association of Canada (AIAC), the Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC), and the Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT).

Janet is deeply committed to advancing the next generation in aerospace, particularly advocating for women in the industry. She actively collaborates with schools, universities, and the broader community, sharing her knowledge and promoting the skills needed for fulfilling aerospace careers. Her dedication earned her the 2022 Women of Inspiration, Dream Builder Award from the Universal Women’s Network and the Business Person of the Year award in Mississauga

Janet will be based in Toronto but will visit all DHC facilities in the coming weeks to get to know the team and the organization better. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome when you see her!
