We are family

Can we all agree that the Aerial Firefighters are really cool? Yes, each aircraft in the DHC family has its own unique features that make it the perfect tool for the job, but there’s something very compelling about an aircraft that scoops up water and maneuvers tightly among trees and mountains to put out fires.

As we mentioned in the Town Hall last month, we’re pleased to offer the Aerial Firefighter (AFF) Familiarization Training to our Calgary and Victoria teams in January and February 2025. The training will provide a basic understanding of the CL-415 aircraft. This four-day program will be held on the following dates:

Calgary: (Cohort 1: must be available and actively attend all four days from 08:00AM-04:00PM)
•    January 6 & 7
•    February 3 & 4

Victoria: (Cohort 2: must be available and actively attend all four days from 08:00AM-04:00PM)
•    January 9 & 10
•    February 6 & 7

Due to high demand, candidates will be selected based on nominations from managers.

Managers, please submit a prioritized list of your nominations to mylearning@dehavilland.com by Friday, December 14.

Please note that there are only 24 spots available per cohort, and while not all nominated candidates may be selected, those who are not chosen will be placed on a waitlist for the next session.

Additionally, an AFF Familiarization program will be available in Q3 2025 for our Toronto location. More details will be shared closer to the date.
