We officially broke ground on De Havilland Field on Friday, marking the exciting start of construction on our future home… and of course we celebrated in true De Havilland fashion.
Employees from Calgary, Victoria, and Toronto joined the celebration for an unforgettable day filled with BBQ, legacy DHC aircraft, an airshow, and plenty of company pride. The event brought us together to celebrate this major milestone not only for our team, but for Canadian aerospace.
Guests had the chance to see legacy aircraft like Twin Otters, Beavers and even a Chipmunk (with a special guest inside) arrive at the field, while the formal groundbreaking ceremony highlighted the vision behind De Havilland Field and what it represents for the future of our company. And because we couldn’t say we “broke” ground without a little De Havilland flair, we had two CL-215 aircraft make a dramatic pass to officially “soak” the ground!
More than anything, the day was about our people. It was incredible to see so many employees together, connecting across sites and celebrating a once-in-a-generation milestone side by side. The energy, excitement, and pride throughout the day made it clear: De Havilland Field is more than a construction project, it’s the next chapter of our story.
Whether you were there in person, or watched the live stream, you all helped make the event such a memorable success. The future is officially under construction!
