Built Behind the Scenes: Meet the Logistics Team

Logistics keeps everything moving. From coordinating the movement of parts and materials to ensuring the right resources arrive where they’re needed, it’s a function that plays a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly across the business.

This National Logistics Day, we’re recognizing the people behind that work by highlighting a few members of our logistics team. Meet @Zakaria Elhoussi, Distribution Specialist, Global Logistics; @Majed Elkhatib, Lead, Materials Management; and @Victoria Ilminski, Logistics Coordinator, Global Logistics, and learn more about the roles they play, the partnerships that drive their success, and what it’s like to be part of the logistics team at DHC.

What is your role at DHC, and what does a typical day look like for you?
Zakaria: I’m a Global Distribution Specialist supporting our global distribution network across multiple DHC sites. My role focuses on ensuring materials move efficiently through the supply chain while identifying opportunities to improve our processes. A typical day involves analyzing inventory and logistics data, supporting distribution operations, resolving complex material issues, collaborating with different departments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. No two days are exactly the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role.
Majed: I am a Warehouse Team Lead at CGY 6 who supports both inbound and outbound operations, with a primary focus on Receiving. My day involves coordinating inbound shipments, supporting inventory accuracy, assisting with operational priorities, and helping the team overcome challenges. I enjoy identifying opportunities for improvement, and we’ve made significant progress in Receiving through process changes that have improved efficiency and workflow. A typical day involves coordinating inbound shipments, supporting inventory accuracy, assisting with outbound priorities when needed, and working alongside the team to remove obstacles and improve processes. I enjoy finding opportunities to make things work better, and over the past several years we’ve made significant progress within Receiving by implementing process improvements that have increased efficiency, improved visibility, and helped the team manage growing volumes more effectively. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing positive changes turn into lasting results.
Victoria: I work in Logistics, supporting the movement of materials and components that keep our aircraft programs running smoothly. A typical day involves coordinating shipments, tracking critical parts, working with suppliers and transportation partners, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure materials arrive where they need to be, when they need to be there. Every day is a little different, which keeps the role interesting.

Which departments do you work with most, and how do those partnerships help drive success?
Zakaria: I work closely with Procurement, Quality, Production, Finance, Planning, Engineering, and our Distribution teams across multiple sites. Success in logistics depends on strong collaboration. Whether we’re resolving inventory discrepancies, supporting supplier returns, improving material flow, or planning large inventory relocations, each department brings valuable expertise. Working together allows us to solve problems faster and better support both our internal teams and our customers.
Majed: I work closely with Inventory Control, Procurement, Customer Service, Transportation, and the Outbound Operations team. Receiving is often the first step in the warehouse process, so strong partnerships are critical. Good communication helps us solve issues quickly, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure products flow efficiently through the operation. When departments work together, everyone succeeds, including our customers.
Victoria: I work closely with Warehouse Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Procurement, and various other teams. By sharing information and solving challenges together, we help minimize delays, maintain production schedules, and ensure our teams have the materials they need to build and support aircraft.

What’s a skill people might be surprised about is important for someone working in logistics?
Zakaria: Problem-solving and communication. People often think logistics is only about moving parts from one location to another, but a large part of the job involves understanding complex processes, analyzing data, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and finding practical solutions that keep operations running smoothly.
Majed: Patience. Logistics can be unpredictable and staying calm while working through challenges helps lead to better decisions and better long-term solutions.
Victoria: Adaptability. Logistics is constantly changing, and even the best plans can be affected by weather, transportation delays, or shifting customer needs. Being able to adjust quickly while staying organized is essential while providing clear communication, so everyone stays informed and aligned.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the logistics team at DHC?
Zakaria: I enjoy the variety and the opportunity to make a real impact. Every improvement—whether it’s streamlining a process, improving inventory visibility, or supporting a global project—helps the business operate more efficiently. It’s rewarding to work with talented people across the organization and contribute to continuous improvement.
Majed: I enjoy being part of a team that is constantly evolving and improving. It’s rewarding to look back and see how much progress we’ve made, particularly within Receiving. Many of the process changes we’ve implemented have helped us become more efficient and better prepared to handle daily challenges. I also enjoy helping develop team members and contributing ideas that make the operation stronger. Knowing that the work we do every day directly impacts our customers and the success of the business gives a real sense of purpose.
Victoria: I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of the role. Every day presents a new challenge, and it’s rewarding to work with different teams to find solutions that keep products moving efficiently and customers satisfied.

Which fictional character would make the best addition to the DHC logistics team?
Zakaria: Tony Stark. He’s an innovative problem-solver who thrives under pressure, embraces technology, and is always looking for smarter, more efficient ways to get things done.
Majed: Tony Stark – Constantly looking for ways to improve systems and increase efficiency. He’d likely automate half the warehouse and have three new process improvements implemented before lunch.
Victoria: Hermione Granger. She’s highly organized, resourceful under pressure, and always prepared with a solution when challenges arise—qualities that would fit perfectly in a fast-paced logistics environment

Which DHC value shows up most often in your work and why?
Zakaria: Continuous Improvement. I’m always looking for ways to improve processes, increase visibility through data, simplify workflows, and help teams work more efficiently. Small improvements made consistently can have a significant impact across the supply chain.
Majed: Continuous Improvement. One of the things that motivates me most is finding ways to make our operation better, more efficient, and more effective. I am determined to leave things better than I found them, whether that’s through process improvements, supporting team development, or helping solve operational challenges. The progress we’ve made within Receiving over the last year is a great example of this value in action. Small improvements made consistently over time can create a significant impact, and being part of that positive change is something I take pride in every day.
Victoria: Collaboration. Logistics sit at the intersection of many functions, and success depends on strong teamwork. Whether we’re coordinating with suppliers, supporting production, or solving an urgent issue, working together allows us to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and the company.
