De Havilland Canada is pleased to share some outstanding news—the Quality team has successfully completed the AS9100 audit with no findings.
The AS9100 annual recertification audit is a comprehensive evaluation/process audit conducted to confirm continued compliance with the AS9100 standard, which governs quality management systems in the aerospace industry. Simply put, “Say What You Do, Do What You Say and Prove it! It was a five-day recertification audit and the first one we did in eight years that did not have a single finding.
Sandra Howell, Vice-President of Corporate Operations and Programs, emphasized this achievement. “It reflects an exceptional level of commitment, expertise, and teamwork in Victoria and CGY1 between our Quality and Production teams. Passing an AS9100 audit is a significant milestone for any organization, and doing so with zero findings underscores the strength of our quality management system and the dedication of the team that supports it”.
Several key notable mentions by the external audit team, Intertek, included:
-
DHC’s robust Supplier Control System
-
Document control within quality manufacturing
-
A focus on continuous improvement and newly introduced processes, with the new Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) lab specifically highlighted. This lab processes and inspects parts for surface defects in all non-porous materials.
Congratulations are extended to the Quality & Production teams for their hard work, thorough preparation, and continuous drive for excellence. This accomplishment benefits all of us and reinforces our reputation for delivering the highest standards in aerospace quality.
Well done!
