DHC Delivers

Every aircraft delivery at DHC is a special occasion. In each case, we are meeting and exceeding the needs and requirements of our customers, but on October 31 of 2024, we delivered an aircraft that will have nation-wide impact.

SATENA, the state airline of Colombia, founded in 1962, selected the Twin Otter to provide unprecedented access for the people living in some of the most remote and challenging locations in the country.

This is the first of eight Twin Otters that will increase SATENA’s routes by 100 per cent, providing transportation for more than 350,000 passengers.

Major General Óscar Zuluaga Castaño accepted the aircraft on behalf of SATENA. The General was overcome with emotion as he thanked everyone at De Havilland Canada. He spoke of the essential supplies and life-saving care the new Twin Otter will provide and gave a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this moment possible.

Shout Out to the Teams
Delivery of a phenomenal aircraft like the Twin Otter doesn’t just happen. It takes people on the sales team to get the deal finalized, people in manufacturing to produce parts and assemble the aircraft and our MRO department that put the final touches on the aircraft.

But whatever your role at DHC, every one of us took part in delivering an aircraft that will change the lives of people in the remote regions of Colombia.

Well done, DHC!
